Bluetooth first: I have an old Bose Soundlink Mini II. Under Monterey, just worked. I turned it one, I got the blip, and was ready to go. First time on Ventura, the Bluetooth icon in the (system tray, upper right) showed it, wouldn't connect. The craplet in System Settings showed it and also wouldn't connect. So, first time again, I deleted it in the craplet, and set it to pair mode. Venture finally found it, and I got the blip and had 'music'. Today? Won't connect through either means (again). ARG!! So I grab my old Beats Fit Pros and stick them in my ears out of desperation, and THEY CONNECT (after seeing a message that they were 'near'), at a high volume, but them when I touch the volume in the icon in the upper right, the volume instantly falls to near zero, so I have to crank it up to a level, based on the scale, higher than when they started working. *sigh* But they worked.
Music second: I use the MiniPlayer. Monterey it used to show the track name but in Ventura, it doesn't. I played with it while I was also riding my bike trainer and was kind of able to get it to work, somewhat, but then got FULL SCREEN mode, and then had a heck of a time getting it out of that mode. It was driving me nits, but finally got it to work. Today? No, I am back to no track names and can't get it to work as before, like Yesterday! Ouch.
So in Monterey, I could click an artist in the left, click a song in the right and click the Shuffle icon, and the Play icon and it would just take off playing 'random' tracks in that artists available songs. Yesterday, it was working fine, until a Van Halen track popped up. It has played tracks from the artist I chose for the first 3 or 4 tracks, and then tripped to VH, and *WHAT?*. So I try to get it to Shuffle tracks in that artist, and it will not do it, either from the Shuffle button in the main Music app, or the Shuffle button in the Artist box. So I quit Music and started it up, still riding, and it did the same thing! So brain dead.
So, so far my experience with Ventura and a new M1 Mac Mini has been frustrating. I do not have a clue how to fix the Bluetooth issue. As far as Music, it seems like it's not acting like it did before the update so yeah, it's a PITA.
HOWEVER the M1 Mini is so powerful on the graphics side of things, the app I ride with my trainer is showing way more detail. Their app can threshold the graphics based on some kind of test they run when the app is installed (?). So now I see brick patterns and other highlights. It seems like a really good choice if you want to see those things. My earlier Intel Mini had a problem dropping the Bluetooth, and apparently had an issue with the heat sink and had to have the main board changed out.
