Hi everybody,
I just installed Mountain Lion on my iMac (24-inch, Early 2008), everything was alright the first day, restarted and shut down normally, no problems at all.
However from then on, whenever I turn it on, the white screen with the Apple logo appears with the chime, and then it just goes into verbose mode or single user mode (not sure what it's actually called), and I have to type in "exit" for it to continue booting.
Looks exactly like this:

A different set of text comes up when shutting down, but I don't have to type in anything.
I've tried turning off verbose mode via terminal using this:
sudo nvram boot-args=
This didn't work.
I've also tried resetting the PRAM and NVRAM using:
Command+Option+P+R
This didn't work.
What could be causing this, and how do I fix it?
I hope I've given enough information,
Thanks for the help in advance.
