Not to open this can of worms again BUT...

I heard a commercial yesterday on the radio about the new LG Dare. The part I found interesting was that they specifically said it ran on the Verizon 3G network.

I thought Verizon was CDMA...

Verizon is CDMA. However, there's a 3rd generation CDMA too. :)

They specifically said 3G so that would be a little misleading.

IF they do have their own 3G network, then aside from the AT&T contract, why no iphone on Verizon?

3G isn't a network. 3G is a type of network. 3G technology for at&t = HSDPA and for VZW = EV-DO. Both are 3G and both are pretty much the same as far as speed goes, but just because you have a 3G phone doesn't mean it will work on both carriers.

It's like PS3 vs. Xbox 360. Both are "next gen" consoles, but their games aren't compatible with one another.
