Hi Everyone,

I have a Verizon 4G unit but it only says 3G when I am using it. Does that mean I am not on 4G? I live in Westlake Village which is ~30 minutes from Los Angeles.

Also, when you are on wifi, does it automatically stop using the cellular network?

When I look at my cellular usage from settings, it shows no data used....

Thanks,
Pete

If it is on LTE, then the indicator says "LTE." Check Verizon's coverage map to see if you are in an LTE area. Verizon has cities covered pretty well, but is still working on other areas. They claim they will be done upgrading all their current 3G areas by the end of next year.

You can check individual addresses at this site.

I just checked and it looks ilke Westlake Village is just outside VZW's LTE coverage area. If you go a mile or so east it looks like you will get LTE.
