I won't get my Verizon iPad LTE until after I get off work. I have a ATT microsim from my iPhone. So I will check if it works but can't post results until I get my iPad.
Also would like to know if my Verizon Galaxy Nexus microSIM LTE sim will work in the Verizon LTE iPad without paying extra. Cause I also have unlimited LTE data from the Phone. People have used their LTE microSIM from their LTE phones in mifi devices and also XOOM LTE devices without any issues.
This would be awesome since Verizon supports hotspot on the iPad.
All Verizon LTE devices have a SIM slot. And inside you'll find a Verizon LTE SIM card. Unlike CDMA, the LTE user data is stored on a SIM card like GSM.

Yeah that means my Verizon LTE microSIM from my Galaxy Nexus should work with the LTE Verizon iPad and I don't have to pay extra for data.
I don't even use my Verizon phone for calls or text. I have an ATT iPhone 4S as my main phone anyways.
I could in theory get unlimited LTE data from the iPad plus the hotspot and cancel my home internet (I won't cancel my home internet). But it would be a good source for backup internet if I needed it.
