Verizon 4G phone hotspot

On Verizon with a 4G phone, don't you have the option to add a $30 unlimited mobile hotspot? I'm trying to decide if I'd even want to pay for an additional data plan on the iPad limited to 1 or 2 GB if I could get an unlimited hotspot on an 4G LTE capable phone.
