So verizons new 4G LTE is going to be up and running on Dec 5th and the new modem devices use a sim card for data. If i trim this into the micro-sim size would it possibly work with an ipad/unlocked iphone 4(at least for data unless they are going to be using it with the new 4g LTE handhelds)?

T-Mobile SIM cards are for 3G phones like the iPhone. These are not. When 3G launched in the UK we all had to get new 3G simcards despite the fact they looked identical to our existing 2G ones.

Because Tmobile uses GSM, and Verizon CDMA and a totally different 4G not supported by any current iphone model.

No, no verizons sims will work with the iphone in the US.
Those are used just when you're outside the US so your VZ cellphone can connect to foreign GSM networks.

We just gotta wait and see how it plays I guess.
i really hope the rumors are true, i had an iphone 4 but switched to verizon because of the horrible service.
And i also think that verizons new 4G LTE is going to be gsm based. If so will it then be able to work on an ipad?
No, it wont be GSM based.
It will be a totaly different thing, even though they will use Simcards it will not be compatible with GSM networks.
