Verizon 4S Personal Hotspot

I recently moved the family to a share everything plan and have a question on hotspot functionality. If Hotspot is turned on and users are connected to it, when the 4S goes into autolock will the wireless clients loose internet connectivity via the hotspot? Does the 4S have to be plugged into the charger to allow the hotspot to remain active?

They will not lose connectivity if you lock your phone. You also do not need to have your phone on a charger. As long as you have your hotspot on and your phone is on, they should stay connected.
