My friend has a Verizon 5s that is eligible for subsidized upgrade under his contract. He likes the smaller 5S and is willing to let me have the 6S at the Verizon subsidized price. The 6S comes with a preinstalled Verizon SIM. I am a T-Mobile customer. My plan was to place the T-Mobile SIM in the 6S prior to power up and activate the phone with Apple. My understanding is that this may not be possible now as the Apple servers now require the shipped Verizon SIM to be in the phone upon Apple activation. Upon activation with Apple with the supplied 6S SIM, Verizon is electronically notified and my Friend's 5S SIM is deactivated and his service active in the new SIM card. I do not want any disruptions to my friend's 5s service or to have him deal with having his phone's IMEI being reactivated with Verizon. How do I get the 6s activated and working with the T-Mobile SIM and not inconvenience my friend and disrupt his 5s service.
