I transferred the upload eligibility from a dumb phone to my line - a 5s. I then upgraded that 5s for a 6, scheduled to arrive next month. I've received the return envelope from Verizon but won't use it until the new 6 arrives. So far, so good.
After holding the 6 I've decided I don't want it. Too big. I assume if I want to keep things as they are all I need to do is call Verizon and cancel the order.
OR
My teen twins were going to get new phones for Christmas - probably 5s's. What if I want to upgrade my 5s to a 6 and give it to one of the kids? The family then has three 5s's, one 6, and one dumb phone. I'm going to have to take on a new 2 year contract anyway.
The one downside I anticipate is that if either of our existing 5s's (no Apple Care) breaks or goes swimming, we will have an upgrade possibility to "spend" on a new phone. If we don't, we'll be on the hook for a replacement at full retail.
Can I give my kid a 6 and keep a 5s (a new one, having turned in my current one)? Or is my take on upgrade possibility correct?
Thank you!
