Carrier Verizon - Does this make sense to get 0.5 Mbps to 3 Mbps on one side of a small house but 5 to 10 Mbps in the middle of the small house?

Yes, differences in the amount of material in the house. Between you and the tower will affect connection quality. I get different cell strength at different spots in the house. As I’m sure most people do. Many also have dead spots in their homes.

Also cellular data speed is dependent on how many people in the neighborhood are accessing the same cell tower. In my town, it's fasts at dawn but often I get less than 1 Mbps after 6 pm when everyone in town seems to be trying to stream video over cellular after they get home
