We just changed offices and AT&T came over to hook up our internet service, upgrading our Uverse modem to a Motorola NVG510 (from an older 2Wire unit). One of my partners has Verizon FiOs at home and when he comes into the office his accounts stop working in Apple Mail.
Those two POP accounts return connection errors on their ports -- 465 and 995 (for incoming/outgoing). He can check the accounts via the web just fine. Oddly enough, if he connects to an open Netgear wifi network in the building, those emails work fine (??)
I've tried port forwarding on the router but it hasn't worked. He sat on the phone all day with both Apple and Verizon but neither company could figure out what was wrong; I think there's an issue with Uverse and those ports but don't know if there's any workaround I can try on our end.
Any advice appreciated!
