iPhone XS Verizon gray signal bars

I know there’s been a lot of issues with the new phones and LTE, and one thing I noticed is that the bars will get stuck as gray and will show Verizon LTE. Sometimes messages will send in this state, but that’s about it. In order to use data or voice again, I have to turn airplane mode on then off.

Anyone else experience this? Could it be just software or even cell towers?

My phone with Verizon is just intermittently losing data altogether, requiring me to drive far enough from my house for the towers to swap unless I use the airplane mode trick.

If it's the XS then there is a bad batch of phones and people are having massive cellular issues with phones

Is there real evidence it’s a bad batch? Like people are getting replacements where the problems are gone?

Had this a couple of times on my 8+. Another guy on here with an 8+ has experienced it as well. Seems to be a bug with 12. Never had this issue before 12. I’m on Verizon.
