Verizon, How are your speeds in NYC?

Ouch those are awful... interesting to see the results especially since NYC is such a problematic zone for both AT&T and Verizon.

Ditto. In the NYC suburbs, we get 5-6 mbps download

I am also getting pretty fast speeds in NYC on my ViPhone. If fact my 3G speeds are faster than my Time Warner internet speeds, LOL.

Just saying you're in NYC means nothing b/c it depends where in the city you are. Your speeds should only suck on AT&T and Verizon in the middle of the day and in heavily populated areas like SoHo, Midtown, Penn Station area etc.

Wow I knew AT&T was adding towers by March 31st but they must have done so already. In SoHo right now at 3:35 pm I just got 2.5 Mbps down and 1.08 Mbps up. Best I've ever had in the middle of the day in this area!

Haha I only did a test b/c of this thread and was really surprised! Good job AT&T!

Ah well. It's fast enough for me plus I don't want to deal with AT&T's ****** service. I mostly use my iphone to make phone calls (super clear and no drops calls) , check twitter, facebook, yelp, google maps, ocassional surf the web. Can't wait for LTE next year.

My data speed has gotten worse. 0.9mbps for Downloads and about the same for uploads. Also My signal keeps going from 3g to the letter o. Not even sure what that means.


Disclaimer- im jailbroken and have passed the 2gb data mark. Maybe im being throttled?!

Im still satisfied with voice service over att anyday. The tradeoffs make it worth it.

Well they have added a fourth 3G carrier recently...in addition to whatever new sites they have added or are adding.

Yeah, basically you go with at&t if data is more important, and Verizon if phone calls are more important. Or if your lucky, you get both good phone service and data service if your in a strong AT&T area.
