Good question. I didn't realize there are two different insurance plans until I looked at my account online.

Doesn't matter. Don't buy carrier insurance. The ONLY reason you would ever want to would be if it includes theft protection.

For anything else, Applecare+ is a much better deal and will cost you less over the course of your contract, even though you have to pay when you actually have the phone replaced.
