Considering picking up a new Verizon iPad 3, as I have the 4gb shared plan on my iPhone 5. To those who already have one, any regrets over spending the extra $$ for the Verizon one instead of the Wi-Fi only?

Mine works great too. Got the Verizon version even though I have AT&T for my phone because they were the only company that had LTE in Seattle at the time.

AT&T turned on their LTE network here last week. My iPhone 5 is super fast on AT&T LTE - even faster than my home wifi.

If you want to avoid the $10/month fee to add it as a device on your Share Everything plan, you can swap the micro sim from your phone in and use the data.

I have an old unlimited data plan and swap the sim between my phone and the iPad all the time. If its going to be in the iPad for a while I forward my phone number to a google voice line that actually rings on the iPad so I dont miss calls.

We did get an iPhone5 for my wife and I confirmed that using a nano-sim to micro sim adapter, it still works.

Yes I have Regrets

I have regrets about getting the new iPad with 4G built in. I should have gotten the wifi and just tethered it. On the new share everything plan, you can tether for free. I almost NEVER am without my phone.

I routinely use my iPad 3 (4G) as a mobile hotspot when on-the-go for any 3G devices I have on hand including my iPhone 4. Was sharing my 4G connection out last night in fact while at the bowling alley. Everyone on my bowling team was loving the 4G connection. I was equally loving the free adult refreshments which were provided as a thank you for sharing out my 4G. :)

No regrets here. At the time the iPad 3 was released, my city was not an LTE city for AT&T, so I went with Verizon. I have been very happy with the service. The speeds are fast and the signal is reliable. I also like that the hot spot feature is included with all of the Verizon plan options.

No regrets - see below for Verizon LTE vs FiOS speeds in Philadelphia:
