I just tried to pick up an iPad1 from their "clearance" or whatever you wanted to call it. Looking for the 16gb model but the lady told me that no one has that model anymore. This true or is she just feeding me BS? Wanted to scoop one at $300, looks like I might have found the news a little too late though.

I looked all over central Alabama on Saturday and none of the verizon stores had any 16gb or 32gb ipads in stock anymore. It was a great deal, I just wish I had heard about the sale on the day it started :(

I think you guys missed the boat. I think when the news broke (Thursday?) the 16gb models were sold out.

Although, I wouldn't be surprised if AT&T or other third parties did this as well. But $300 for iPad? I mean that's a steal, especially since iPod touches go for $300.

I bought one for myself and another for a friend out of state last Friday, both 32 gb. The 16 gb models were sold out. Pretty happy to have found them at the $399 sale price, the saved money goes toward iPad 3 when it comes out if it has the features I really want.

The store down the street from me in Houston (and most stores in Houston) have the 32gb for 399. I am just not willing to pay that price for an iPad. Storage means nothing to me. I am just looking for the 16GB, $299 is probably still a bit more than I am wiling to spend but I knew if I didn't find it useful I could sell it. Oh Well. Back to craigslist.

just talked to a vzw employee here in nyc. she admitted that a bunch of them bought the ipad 1 for themselves once the price dropped to $299. another admitted in buying to sell on craigslist :(

It's too late. It sold out pretty much everywhere as soon as the story broke out. 299 dollars for ipad is the same price as ipod touch 32GB. That's a steal.

I spent a little bit of time trying to find one but in the end me and others in similar situations just pricematched ourselves to victory. Some were much harder than others but you can only get what you work for....

I also bought a 32 gb from Verizon. I was really thinking about getting a 16gb but they were sold out.
