I am due for an upgrade in December, but want to keep that for what will hopefully be an iPhone 5 next year, however... I still want the iPhone 4S. My dad, who is on a different plan with my mom, and I am on with my wife, is happy with his phone and could go another 20 months without upgrading. Can he order the iPhone 4S and once he gets it just give it to me? Or can he activate it, and then reactivate his old phone, and I can activate the iPhone? Will he get charged for a month of data if so, or just for a day or whatever? Any help would be appreciated here. Thanks.
