Verizon iPhone 5, using SIM card at same time?

With the Verizon (and after delay Sprint) SIM slot "unlocked", can you have 2 services at the same time (switch to desired service)?

Has anyone tried to have both at same time?

Or on flip side, how do you go about switching from one service to another?

Advising friend who travels how to use iPhone 5 (or 4S).

if you pay for both, all you need is an activated SIM, one for each carrier and put in the sim of the carrier you want to use at the moment.

So, you are saying YES, you can have 2 active carriers and presumably switch between them in settings?

There are no settings to switch, just pop one SIM card out, and pop the other one in and it just works.

The Verizon SIM Card is required to be in the phone in order to be on Verizon. There is no such thing as a dual SIM iPhone to allow you to use two SIM cards at the same time.
