$10.99 a month with a blistering $199 a month deductible.

Better than AT&T, at least.

verizon is horrible

I never ever buy extended warranties and this one is clearly very over priced.

Sure once in a while something happens where if I had the warranty I would of been covered but if I were to add up all of the costs of the warranties I passed up (electronics, vehicles, appliances,..) I'm well ahead of the game and don't mind the extra costs to replace or fix something.

Who would really pay 10.99 a month for insurance and then pay a 199 dollar deductible?? You can just go to Apple and get a OOW replacement for 199.

AT&T doesn't offer the insurance Assurion does and it's $11.99 per month with the same deductible so the difference little to none at all.

I didn't say it was much better. :) Just better.

Yet another reason NOT to switch, though if you're buying this overpriced junk you might confuse $1 month as a reason to switch.

So, if my 32gb iPhone is lost or stolen, I can stroll into an Apple store and get another one for $199 ?

I have no issues with AT&T so I will not make this carrier vs carrier thread because in reality all of them suck in some way. I agree though that insurance is very overpriced and not worth it IMO.

Man, am I glad that I happened to look in this thread. I was originally planning on getting the insurance - sure, $10.99 is a bit steep, but worth it IMO... until I saw the $199 deductible!

At $11/month it isn't worth it.

I don't get how it isn't worth it. If you lost your iPhone three months after getting it it would cost you the retail price of $600 to replace. However, if you had insurance it would cost 3x$12 + $200 deductible = $336.

you mean $236...and I don't think the end price is the problem...what sucks is every other phone on AT&T (not sure about verizons pricing) costs $4.99 a month to insure and carries either a $50 or $125 deductable depending on the non contract price of the phone! Yet because it is an apple product companies feel they are justified in raising the price!

If you have to pay $11 x 24 months for entire plan that equals $264. If you have to use it once (total of $464 for new iPhone 4 32gb) it will save you about 286 dollars if you had to buy a 32gb replacement. I would say spending 264 dollars to ensure you wouldn't have to spend 750 dollars to replace your phone is worth it. Insurance is always a rip off but is nice to have when you do need it.

Saw this thread on google and was interested in adding in. Stupid or not I actually just added the 10.99 insurance less than 20 minutes ago. I did the math just as some members prior to my post and it made sense to some degree. I decided to add it mainly because verizon gives a 30 day frame to do so and i'd rather have it for now than not and miss out. Granted there are plenty of independent, outside insurance options, but screw it, i'm not in the mood to research. I figured I'll keep it on for a little while and remove it when ebay's vz iphone rates drop and match the remaining year of ins + deduct. after that insurance is rendered useless.

This is off topic, but should I pull the trigger on a power support sp? I really enjoy the visuals of the phone as is and don't want to see imperfections that result from screen protectors, pesky air bubbles, dirt and dust, etc.

thanks
