Was trying to order last night and only had 2 options: monthly device payments over 24 months (which will increase my current bill from $133 to $183 for 24 months), or buy at full retail. I was looking for the 2 year contract price like I always have used but it wasn't there. So I chose device payments. I'm pretty sure this will be a lot more expensive than what I was paying before. (Old bill: $133 x 24 months + $299 (2 yr contract iPhone 6 Plus price) + $199 (2 yr contract iPhone 5s price) = $3690) (New bill: $183 x 24 months = $4392) Someone correct me if I'm wrong on that new bill part. So I was thinking, Verizon says one of the selling points of the device payments is that you don't sign a 2 year contract so you can switch carriers whenever you like (after paying off your device). Isn't this essentially the same thing as buying at full retail to begin with? I was thinking, why don't I just pay the remaining balance on the phones and switch to Straight Talk (bill will only be $869 for iPhone 7 Plus 128 GB Jet Black + $649 for iPhone 7 32 GB Black + $90/month for 24 mo for straight talk service = $3678 (the cheapest way)). Has anyone else thought about this?

Edit: Should add my current Verizon plan is 12GB verizon plan. Not on the new verizon plan.
