Dear Macrumors members,

sorry for yet another 'will it work' thread, but I have not really seen any information regarding Verizon in specific...

now that AT&T version new iPads shipment dates have started slipping, I wanted to know if Verizon new iPads bought in the US will work in Europe/Worldwide (3g/hspa+/etc)..

it seems quite clear that 4g lte will most probably only work in the US thanks to different frequencies , and if I use the verzion version in the US I will be able to only use Verizon as a carrier..

any confirmation on there being no problems in Europe? Why are they selling the AT&T spec one in Europe rather than the verizon?
I'm just a bit confused on the Verizon having CDMA and past Verizon phones being difficult to use internationally...

one thread I found mentioned this:

Both models have
GSM/EDGE on 850,900,1800,1900
HSPA/HSPA+/DC-HSPA on 850,900,1900,2100

so 3G and HSPA will work for sure around the world correct? :)

thanks

you will be fine. the GSM side is the same on all new iPads. the only difference is with the LTE bands. both iPads don't support euro lte anyway, so nothing lost there.
