Resolved Verizon off contract iPhone 6plus

I have an iPhone 5s I bought on release day. I have no lines available for upgrades, so I plan on buying full price.

If I preorder from Apple, will they make me sign a new contract or can I keep my current contract and pay full retail price? Thanks

If you pay full retail price, there's no extended contract.

From what's been mentioned here repeatedly, if you do NOT have an upgrade available then come time to preorder it will give you the option to purchase without contract extension and at full retail price. I corroborated this by attempting to buy a 5S today using a line that was NOT eligible for an upgrade and it gave me exactly this result.

You can't sign a new contract. Unless you have an upgrade available or they give you an early upgrade, which is very rare these days, extending a contract is not an option. US carriers won't stack contract times.
