So I currently have the Loyalty unlimited talk and text/2GB data plan for $60/month.

When I go to order the iphone on apple, it wants me to add a data plan to my plan(that already has data). Making my $60 plan $90 and 2 extra gb of data I won't use

Is my best bet to go ahead and order the 6 on apple, go through with the plan, then switch the plan back to what I originally had upon activation of the new iphone?

Anyone else have this issue?

I asked a Verizon rep this morning and he said to just buy the phone, then call Verizon before activating to keep your current plan. If you do it after you might be charged the higher rate for a month, but you could still probably work it out with them at that point.
