My Verizon plan does not include hotspot (I have an unlimited grandfathered plan, and did not opt for the hotspot add-on option, because of the huge price increase and how I'd barely ever use it).

Since my phone is an iPhone and my computer is a Mac, is there a USB/Bluetooth/other option that I can access the internet with my Mac? I need to do this maybe one or two times a month for two small things which use almost no data, is there a way I can get my Macbook online (with the aforementioned iPhone) even if it's in an unhandy way such as a setting, app, connector or even a wire of some sort?

Just wondering if there is any option I'm not aware of as things change so quickly now. I searched for this but just get results that talk about if you DO have a hotspot option on your plan.

Thanks!

^^ Article from 2013, mentions your exact issues. I am sure there is a third party app that might do it, or jail break your iPhone... but verizon locks that down pretty hard to do it without one of those two things. I've never been able to do it on an iPhone. I did it on my android easily enough, and played a LOT of Diablo III while in Georgia, training.

Good luck. You might consider switch to the new verizon unlimited plan... I'm not sure what you're paying now, but I'm on that and I pay 250 for 4 phones, unlimited data, unlimited tethering, and brand new phones to boot.
