so- verizon's had the razor out for a few days...

on other forums i'm gettin mixed reviews
anyone here?

does it work w/ OSX?
etc

thanks!

do any verizon phones work with OS X???

every phone i looked at with bluetooth had it disabled so you can't connect it to anything  and i'm thinking the verizon razr will be the same...

verizon is the worst cellphone company, unfortunately, it's the only one that has service in my area, so i'm forced to use them...their coverage and service is great, everything else about them is just pathetic.

My e815 worked with iSync right out of the box. So yes, some Verizon phones do work with OS X.

yeah? hmm, maybe it's just the BT connectivity they hobble, i'll have to see if i can get a cable for my new a950 or whatever it is...
Sorry, I should have explicitly said that I connect my phone to OS X via BT.

Yea, the e815 works with iSync and Bluetooth just fine. Versison just dissabled the file transfer abilities with all computers, not just Macs. There is actualy a seam hack that will enable it and alow you to transfer data (like pictures and ring tones) to you Mac over bluetooth very easily.

I can verify that. It takes about 10 seconds assuming you already have the correct software.

I wish I could verify it to but I don't have a PC to do the seem hack, ah well.

I have however used Bluetooth file transfer with a friends Sony phone and it is nice.

That is usualy the case, but it has been proven that Verizon intentionaly dissables Bluetooth data transfer on phones that are normaly perfectly capable of it. Luckily they still allow calendar and contact syncs.

Sprint crippled their latest (read: only) BT phone, the PM-325. I had to turn in my SE-T608 under warranty, but it couldn't be replaced for the same thing, so I ended up with the crip phone.

It's time to move onto a GSM carrier where I can get a cooler, more useful phone. I kind of hope that T-Mobile gets the ROKR E2 or even the RAZR V3i, if they don't I'll hit Cingular.

Hold The Phone!

pardon the pun-
but i specifically asked about the RAZOR - the new one-

yes- i know that most of the verizon phones do work w/ bluetooth + iSync
i also know about the hacks...etc

but- i'm curious about the razor

thanks, however, for all of the feedback
it is really good to know that the other phones do actually work as well!

My (T-Mobile) Razr syncs via USB fine, you just cant get pictures. It also syncs with my moms PB which has BT. I dont see why the verizon would work via USB or BT.

[edit]

you can get the pics from bt.

You can do everything through Bluetooth. The problem is not with Verizon's phone at all, its with iSync. There is a modified version of iSync in this forum about 5 replys down:

With that version of iSync, my contacts and calendars imported fine into my Verizon Razr. Photos and .mp3 files for ringtones also transfered flawlessly through Bluetooth file transfer.
