Does Verizon charge a restocking fee even if you haven't opened the box or taken off the plastic?
 
Yes, it's $35 regardless. You're probably better just selling it and making money instead.

Actually there is mixed info out there about this. I've been told if it's a sealed box they can make an exception. Call and ask.

So I called an asked and here's what I learned.

If the box has not been opened and the phone has not been activated you mail it back there will be no restocking fee. You can also do this at a local Verizon Store but it must be a corporate store. It can't be a Premium or Authorized store. But you have to check with them.
