Verizon roaming in Canada

How is verizon roaming coverage in Canada?

I know it's been asked before, but these things change...

I'm currently with AT&T but considering a change to Verizon.

I also have a rogers sim card/prepay account for trips to canada.

Sometimes, however, my trips are short, and I never get around to switching to Rogers, on those occasions I typically roam.

I have an iphone5. (previously a 4S and an unlocked 3GS for canada.)

How is Verizon/CDMA roaming in Canada these days?
Is Verizon coverage good?

Mostly prairies: Manitoba, Sask, Alberta, but trips to other provinces as well.

Thanks in advance (again, I *have* a Rogers account, but don't always use it).

To be clear, are you asking merely the quality of roaming services available or wondering what Verizon will bill you for their use?
 
Urban, all three are good, rural coverage in ontario used to be dominated by Rogers, but not anymore, Bell seems to be the dominant one now, Telus also piggy backs off of Bells towers and vise versa Bell off of Telus towers..
Goto Rogers, Bell and Telus websites, they all have coverage maps.
 
I frequently visit Montreal and with my 4S on Verizon, I just turned off data but kept voice/text on. I was never charged for texts. Only voice and data got me charges.

I am the old unlimited Family plan.

Again, I have a ROGERS account. I travel there often with AT&T and ROGERS.

How is VERIZON'S roaming coverage? Do you know?
 
Have Verizon unlock a 4s and pop a SIM card into that. I traveled to Victoria and just bought a Virgin mobile SIM card. Worked great.

If you buy an iPhone 5 it's already unlocked.

Am I not being clear?

I already HAVE a rogers Sim. I already HAVE a rogers account.
I go to Canada 5-10 times per year.

I have been USING an unlocked iphone for many years.

Sometimes, however, I need to ROAM in Canada. (I may be up there for just a few hours at a time sometimes, on those days, I don't have time to topup my rogers account. I ROAM.)

I am asking SPECIFICALLY about ROAMING with a Verizon Iphone (which, of course WILL be unlocked).
Has anyone ROAMED in Canada with a Verizon iPhone?

I had a look at that prior to posting my question and it does give me some info, but am also interested in knowing folks' experience. I know what the AT&T map says about coverage in my home town, and know that reality is quite different, so I am hoping some folks who have roamed can also chime in.
