Probably has to do with the unknown on the cost of subsidizing the iPhone. If you read the analyst blogs, the stock price of both apple and Verizon already include Verizon launching the iPhone.

AT&T's stock dipped a year ago as well, when it was revealed that they had over a half billion dollars tied up in iPhone subsidies.
