Successfully just pre-ordered via Telephone on Verizon. I somehow got transferred to a speaking person and they took my order, unlimited data, and shipping to a different address then on the account.

Only downside, no email confirmation, just a number. Does anyone know if I can submit this number online somewhere to view information?

Hmm, I don't have a pre-auth but not worried about it. Too bad the agent didn't verify the numbers with me.
Every situation is different...some people have authorizations for the full amount and some have none.

Does your credit card show authorizations? I know my Citi card doesn't show them for a while, but it deducts it from my credit limit. Check your limit to see if it is deducted by any amount.

Thats why I love my USAA cards, and my Chase for that matter, they show pending charges as soon as I swipe my card.

I actually used a debit.

Typically US Bank does, but I've never ordered anything at 2am before. Even if there is a number issue, I'm not concerned as I'm calling tomorrow to verify the order etc.

Ah then I don't know sorry :p I never use my debit card except to get money from the ATM if I need cash

I would have used one of my credit cards but I'm young and they don't have limits above $300, and for a $700 purchase I was concerned.

Hey at least you have credit cards when you are young, I got my first one at 19 and glad I did. You will be glad later on when you have an awesome credit rating (if you are responsible) and you'r friends have no credit history.

I know right! I've been 18 for.. 5 months now, and I've got two credit cards. Both are used sparingly for things I would otherwise use my debit for, and I pay them off each month.

Starting accounts as early as possible will be good when I'm 40 and these two accounts are 22 years old.. can you say 800+ FICO! I'm a credit nerd.

I just successfully ordered on the phone too but switched to share everythig. Not sure how you were unalbe to keep unlimited. Good work!
