Verizon Swapping Sim Cards not working for one device. 6 showing "no sim error"

Not sure what to do here.

My wife and I are on the same account. I am on a sub account with unlimited data. She got the Iphone 6 and is giving it to me so I can keep my data, and I am giving her my Iphone 5S

Sim cards are the same. When I put the new sim card Verizon sent to her in my old 5S it worked perfectly. My old 5S had her phone number. However, when I put my "old" sim card into the 6 it keeps on saying "no sim". The sim is functional. I put it back in my 5S and she has the 6..at least for one day.

Any idea why it would keep saying "no sim" installed? I reseated it in the tray 3 times to make sure it wasn't a physical issue with no success. Any assistance is appreciated.

Just checked with an IP5 sim and mine worked ok. Does it work if you put it back in the 5s?

Yes that is the weird thing. The sim card works when I put it back into the 5S. Not making any sense at all.
