I love having the option to choose. Whether it's choosing shorts or pants on a particular day; mocs or boots; eating healthy vs eating not so healthy. But when it comes to my phone carrier, I don't really have that freedom of choice. Why, you ask? It's because Verizon is taking its time activating the new LTE towers in my town. And I'm "forced" in a way to go AT&T.
Of course, I could wait until Verizon has finally turned on the towers and then proceed with my purchase, but so many factors come into play then. Namely, will the phone be available for purchase; having to stick it out with my less than stellar prepaid Virgin Mobile phone; and the reality that I may be waiting until the beginning of next year. I don't like that.
I have played the prepaid game after my Sprint contract expired and waited patiently for the past 6 months for the iPhone 5. I don't want to wait any longer.
Nothing against AT&T, because I've heard that their service is decent. I've just experienced the slow data speeds whenever I go back home (DC) and would love to not have to deal with that on my phone.
I could stay with Virgin Mobile, but paying $650 for a phone is the last thing I would venture to do.
Shall I wait or just go with AT&T? How much longer after towers are built are they normally activated? They've been up for the past two months, btw.
I've already reserved a 16GB AT&T iPhone 5 at my local Best Buy. Having second thoughts.
