So with iMessage...does it take away from your texting plan?

I have unlimited now, but was thinking of saving some $$, most of my friends have iPhones and verizon...so ill be using iMessage a lot.

Would like to move down a level on texting.

It does not. iMessages are free, you only have to pay for text messages when it can't iMessage, and defaults back to SMS. You'll know because the send button turns green.

I'm having trouble telling what my text messaging plan is with Verizon. I signed up for a family share plan and in the process was never given a choice about text message plans. In MyVerizon plan page, it says I have "Shared 700 minutes and Unlimited Texting" but then on the same page under the Text Messaging header it says "Pay as you go $0.20 per text" (or something like that). Confused.
