Verizon - used upgrade on 1 line, but want to use phone on another line

Do I need to switch the sim; how is the phone itself linked to the phone number on a CDMA phone?

You need to contact VZW to have them make the switch. Or take it in to a store.

If the other line is also an LTE phone literally just switch the SIM card. Yes even CDMA phones.

Just log into the verizon website and switch them yourself. I did it in less than 10 minutes.
