During normal usage the differences will be very small. I would advise against Vertex 2 though. It's got the worst reliability on Newegg of any SSD. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227551 Crucial M4 comes close to Vertex 3 performance while it costs less and it's more reliable.
