Vertical band down display all of a sudden

Has anyone seen this before? M4 24gb from Nov 2024. Rebooted into recovery mode per the chat agents request which did nothing. Anything to try before setting up a service appt?

I've seen this sort of problem discussed in other posts and it's usually a hardware problem.

Because other people posted similar failures on the M4 MacBook Pro, I want to see if it affects both screen sizes or limited to just a certain size.

To be honest the size of the laptop probably wouldn't matter, especially given that the thread you linked to is a different issue (horizontal black line in display) from the OPs, which appears to be related to the backlighting based on the photo they included in their post.
