I'm going to be getting a new iMac and I really love my ACD so I'd like to use them together. I'm pretty sure I've seen this but I'm looking for a way to have the ACD vertical so I can use it for my dock and web page screen. I'm not looking for a wall mount. I'm not sure if it's an adaptor that I can use or a different stand.

Thanks

Monitor stand

I recently bought the Humanscale M7 Dual TFT mount from Dell here in the UK (single monitor mounts are also available). It clamps at the back of the desk and it can rotate the monitor. I've currently got my Dell attached and am waiting for the ACD Vesa adaptor to attach my 23 inch ACD.

The mounts I have found are a bit too much for the wallet, the humanscale runs about 300$ I think I might try it like this, no mounts let the cord hold it in place.

I use Ergotron LX (I think "LX") mounts for my ACDs, about $125.

I can move the monitors around, rotate from landscape to portrait, etc. Seemed stupidly expensive at the time, but I would not be able to live without them now.

I would highly recommend them, and also recommend not saving the ~$50 to get the cheaper version. I have 23"s on mine and they do not strain or anything. I could not be happier.

Original mounts?

Hi digitalField,

What kind of mounts are you using here? It looks like the original ones that ship with the Cinema Display, but can't figure out how you managed to rotate them :p

hey thats a photo of my old desk! sweet :D
and FWIW, that setup was supereasy to throw together... and supereasy to reverse if need be.

M!

Are you able to rotate screens in the display settings? I know you can in Windows, but I'm not sure about that in OS X.

Yes, you absolutely are able to do so. I work with a mac and an auxiliary screen rotated all the time. The controls are in the Systems Preferences without regard for the type of monitor. You need some sort of VESA stand and a $35 or $40 adapter for the cinema display.
