Vertical Lines on Macbook Pro

Hi all, I accidently dropped my mbp yesterday, fell about 2 feet, it was off at the time and I immediately tried to start it, I got the white screen and the start-up chime but when it booted to my desktop all I could see are strange vertical grey lines, I connected my laptop to my friend's with firewire and thankfully the harddrive is still ok, only thing is I cant use the laptop. Any idea what is wrong with it and of this can be fixed without taking it in? I'm currently in a remote area of Asia where there is no place to take it

plug it into an external monitor to see if the problem exists there. other than that i would say you screwed up the logic board.
