Vertical Ruler in Pages 5.0

In Pages 5.0, the preferences depict both horizontal and vertical rulers. I get the horizontal ruler ok, but am unable to get the vertical ruler.

Clearly I am missing something.

How in the blazes do I get the vertical ruler added to my template?

Hope apple will fix that in their next update because I need that vertical ruler so badly
