Since I am using a desktop, I don't need my laptop open now, use it as just a portable. I looked at the 12 south arcs, will one work with my 2010 MacBook pro? I also have a speck cover on it too.

I also looked at the rain m vertical stand, they look good, but are pricy, and would it work with my MacBook pro 2010?

I would like a stand that works with various size laptops.

Have you thought of making one? Could be a fun project and may be better than paying for something that doesn't do exactly what you want. There may of course be something available but making one would be more fun.

Are you, for any chance, looking for a Henge Dock?

That one fits all 13" MacBook Pros from 2009 to the current one. And it's currently on sale for $55.

No, was not looking at a henge dock, my macbook pro is the 15 inch with a speck case, & it is the older one with a CD drive built in.

The Alubase from just Mobile is worth a look. plastic insert stops your mac from getting scratched.
