Hi,

I have used a Macbook Pro from 2007 and have now recently bought the all new 17 inch Macbook Pro.

Something that really annoys me (and my ears) in the new MBP is the crystal clear sound of the Macbook pro speakers when i hit the Volume up or down key on my keyboard. The sound is just too treble and so loud and it gets even worse when i put headphones on and turn down the volume its even more deafening.

Anyone think the same?

Is there a way to solve this problem?

Thanks a lot

Do you mean the clicking noise? If so, you can turn this off in System Preferences. Go to Sound and then uncheck the 'Play feedback when volume is changed' checkbox.

You can also hold down the shift key when changing the volume and it will not play the sound.

I never thought to look in System Preferences to disable the volume change sound.

Thanks.

Thank you. It was really annoying to hear during the softer (lower toned) voices.

I never knew that. Thanks for that. My niece and nephew love to just press every button on my keyboard and when they hit the volume button, they keep hitting it because they hear the noise.
