It seems as if there is only a dozen or so apps that are optimized for the 4" screen. Is there any way to stretch apps that are not optimized to fit the screen? How long do you think it will be before most apps become optimized?

I am wondering the same thing. Apps don't feel complete and just feel outdated if they don't use the full screen. I assume it'll be a few more weeks until we see updates for the majority of top rated apps

There's a lot more than a dozen. On my phone alone, aside from the native apps that come with the phone, I've got the following that have all been updated for the 4" screen:

Facebook
Twitter
Pulse News
Flipboard
News 360
Instagram
645 Pro
iPhoto
iMovie
Podcasts
ColorSplash
Navigon
Geekbench 2
Linpack
Box
CNN
OpenTable
Asphalt 7
MetalStorm
Temple Run
Sword and Sworcery
Bejewelled Blitz
Wordpress
mSecure
Fandango
Hulu Plus
Kindle
Smule Magic Piano
Garage Band
Wikipanion
Evernote
WordLens
My english to German dictionary
Weather 2x
The Weather Channel
Chrome
Stitcher

That's 37 apps on my phone alone. That means 28% of the apps on my phone have been updated. (so I'm sure tens of thousands if not more have been actually updated).

It's going to take a while for all of them to be updated, but they're coming quickly. The only ones I'm really pining for at this moment are Tapatalk and Dolphin...the rest I can wait patiently the few days or weeks it takes for the developers to update them.

I did forget about the games. Some of those on your list are still in the old format for me. I have had none of mine update since i've had the phone.

I think it's funny that the Apple Store App is not even updated for the new screen.

Wait, wait, wait....so are you saying that you took the time to start a thread about how few apps have been updated, but you haven't even updated them on your phone?

That's odd. Those three have definitely been updated. Kindle was updated I believe on launch day. When you go to updates, does it actually show "All your apps are up to date"

One thing to note:

I have noticed that sometimes the updates page can be a bit wonky. Try going into the App Store, going to the Featured page or such, and look around a bit, then go to the updates tab and make sure you see it think a bit. My guess is after a short while you'll see your updates list populate. It's been finicky, and hasn't pushed updates often...most of the time I've had to manually check.

You think that's bad, I tried to find a car charger locally today!

bwahaha...that's pretty funny...

It does...i've been having problems with apps crashing too. Facebook does it a few times a day.
