Ok I apologize upfront if this has previously been discussed. I tried searching and couldn't find anything that answers my questions or addresses my concerns.

This is becoming quite frustrating. My iPhone (iPhone 16e), but I have had this issue on my older iPhone 12 PM before its untimely death, inconsistently alerts me to incoming text messages. Sometimes I get no edible alert that I have a text message, then ten minutes later I do get an audible alert.

There seems to be no rhyme or reason. I have contacted Apple support in the past and they told me that the issue was with "brilliant" FOCUS feature that Apple introduced in a past iteration of IOS. They tell me to make sure that the FOCUS do not disturb settings are correct. Honestly this is so difficult for me to understand that it's maddening to try and figure out that they are set properly or at least set correctly so that they would not intrude on me knowing that I have received a text message.

I have of course made sure to check that the person texting me is not accidentally muted and of course they are not. But the real issue is just how little sense this makes, I will get a text from my wife and my iPhone makes the audible "ding" and I pick up my phone to read the text. Then literally ten minutes later she sends a text and I get no audible "ding" or alert.

This has caused me to miss important texts at work or at least be extremely late in seeing a text and then responding. This is so bad that I literally find myself having to check my phone every 10 minutes or so to make sure that I have not received a text.

Oddly it's funny how all the SPAM texts and phishing texts I get ALWAYS come through with an audible alert.
