Very interesting dilemma

I have a very interesting dilemma on my hands. In about three weeks I will be heading of to college and bringing my MBP with me. The dilemma is this: I want to be able to download files (torrents mostly, but other things as well) on my home network and have them transferred to my MBP over the internet. Right now, I have dropbox set up so I can start my torrents remotely and they will download to my computer at home. But the problem is, how do I get them onto my mac? Also, if at all possible, it would be nice to keep my iTunes library at home synced with the one on my MBP, so if the one on my mbp changes, the one at home changes, and vice versa. So, what programs would I need to make all this work? Thanks!!
