How in a store can I be sure that I am getting the most recent Macbook Pro model (release a few weeks back) as opposed to the previous unibody model? What is the latest identifier code?

The new 13" models are MB990LL/A (2.26 Ghz version) and MB991LL/A (2.53 GHz version). Also you can just look for the SD card slot, which is new to the 13" and 15" MBP... Also the bottom enclosure is now fixed with screws (no more removable battery lid) ...

Local Best Buy had older models as of last weekend. Apple stores have the new ones.
