- Under the same circumstances this glitch did not occur more than one time.
- Setup:
mbp 2011, 15" base (2.0GHz).
moshi mini dp to hdmi,
connected to hdmi to dvi cable,
connected to 19" external monitor

- process:
When using my macbook pro, I accidentally bumped my desk, causing the power cable to dislodge from the back of my external monitor. (It didn't completely fall out). I closed my mbp and as it went to sleep the monitor regained power. However it remained on blue screen for a while, even after the connection was fixed, before finally showing "No signal".

I reopened my macbook, surprised to find that now, when open it would sleep, but when closed, the screen and fans would come back on!
The sleep indicator light also followed this new pattern.

A quick power button forced restart did the trick.

Has anyone else experienced something this odd with their laptop before?
