Hey everybody,

I have a 3gs on 3.0.1 jailbroken with purplera1n. my modem firmware is 04.26.08

I realize I haven't upgraded in a very long time, I've been absolutely content with the way my phone is that I felt no need. btw i have shsh's stored on cydia for all the new firmwares (or so it says..)

My question is, if i want to sell my 3gs, does my old setup do anything for me in terms of value? i dont really know what unlocking is other than you can use other carriers. should I do this? / how can I do this? and what other things can or should I do before I get the new iphone 4.

Thanks for the help in advance!

I'd sell it the way it is. 4.26.xx is a very desirable baseband. Do you have your hashes saved thru Cydia.

yes i do.

is there more insight on this that anyone can provide?

thanks so much

If anything, finding the right buyer would produce much higher $$ profit.

It's impossible to get a new phone back to your baseband / firmware.. so anyone who would rely on an unlock would want to buy your phone.

If they want to upgrade, they can do that as well.

But, the 4.0 jailbreak/unlock from the Dev team isn't far, so it might become irrelevant soon.
