iPod touch Very pixelated & messy picture in videos

Has anyone else this problem? I try to watch the AVGN clips with iPod format from gametrailers and the pictue quality is horrible. I haven't tried anything else yet, but those are .mp4 files for iPod FFS, so it shouldn't be a problem. Could this possible be a faulty device?

If it's only happening to AVGN videos then it's more than likely the video itself and not the iPod.

this machine is way too demanding about the video format! it wouldn't even play .mp4's that were converted to work on PSP with PSP9, which have similar compression formats as .mp4's for iPod, just different ascept ratio and more polish.. even a crappy Creative Zen played those. I'm gonna check with some video from iTunes wether this is defective by accident or by design.
