Hi,

As some of you might remember i'm looking to upgrade my RAM. However, i noticed something strange. I've just turned on my laptop and noticed its performance to be a little slow. No biggie, but after checking the activity monitor i found there are already about 20kb of pageouts. My Mac didn't used to show pageouts at all. Where does this come from? Is there a process i'm not aware of? Have i installed too many things on my mac already? Perhaps there's something malicious on m mac even?

Cheers,

20 KB of pageouts is really nothing to worry about but see how much it accumulates over the next few days. 20 KB is about 0.000019 GB of pageouts, so VERY small. If it seems to be running very slowly even though CPU usage is not high, try an SMC Reset.
