Very slow Icloud photo transfer

Took a bunch of pictures with my Iphone 6s+ this morning and only one of them has transferred to my MacBook Pro. Icloud is on. Wonder what is happening?
 
Restarted my IPhone, per blog from MPFUCHS. Photos now on MacBook. Thanks.
